Oh goodness goddess! This was a goddess session like no other I have ever had, or probably will ever have again. This very brave lady came to me wanting to do pretty much naked photographs of herself on a beach and in the forest. And I jumped right on board with the idea! Of course with us being out in pubic we have to keep the nudity to a acceptable limits to avoid the risk of getting arrested, so the gorgeous Phoenix designed herself some pasties and a thong that would work with our session theme and keep our risk of indecent exposure charges to a minium. I scoped us out a beach that offered us both beach and forest access, and some privacy. Pleased to say we only had a couple families and a few groups of older people walk by while we photographed, and nobody complained!
The weather was wild for this outdoor shoot. They sky was grey and there was quite the wind down at the beach. We had to communicate with each other most of the time by yelling over the sound of the wind and waves crashing onto the shore. We lucked out and the rain held off till we packed ourselves back in the car and headed home. Phoenix tells me the water was warm, but I can still feel the chill in my feet from wading around her to get good angles. I can’t believe she got all the way in, and then laid around the beach on logs, wet in that wind. No goose bumps though, so only the photographer got cold on this shoot!
This photo session was interesting on so many levels between the environment, and the concept. We also had a curious seal come by mid way through the shoot and pop himself out of the water to watch us. I’m sure he was wondering what we were doing on that windy grey day, yelling and laughing and playing in the water. He stuck around for awhile and then swam away when we headed back up the beach to shoot in the forest.
Phoenix and I created some amazing images together and I greatly admire her spirt and bravery. It couldn’t have been easy strutting around the beach wearing hardly a stitch. I hope that this sessions helps Phoenix move forward in all she is trying to achieve in her life, as she has truly embraced her Inner Goddess!
