I’ll admit it’s a strange mix of images to be featuring both a newborn session and a punk boudoir session, but that is how my photography seems to happen. And it’s the way I like it; I like that I get to change gears and creative styles and I’m never bored by doing the same thing every time I create images. For that I count myself very lucky.
I love newborn sessions. Yes, they are long and unpredictable, and the risk of getting poop, pee, or vomit on myself is high. But it is so worth the time I get to cuddle and play with brand new little people. I have yet to have a sleepy co-operative baby in a session; newborn cries are still pretty adorable and they make for realistic images for parents to remember these precious days later on. Meet Saria, my goodness she is an adorable sweety-pie. I enjoyed spending the afternoon cozied up in my warm studio with Torrance and Grandma, trying to convince Saria to not cry or stick her fingers in her face for every shot. Thank you for letting me hold and play with your baby Torrance, I hope you love the images!
Do you remember a couple of years ago I had planned to do a punk boudoir session on the beach with friend and model Maddy? We had started out with some punk inspired glamour images for her to show her family, and never made it to the boudoir part of the session or the beach because we were having so much fun playing around with glamour and the house and yard. Well Maddy came to the studio for some new images and I’m pretty sure we were going to do more Punk Glamour but, surprise, we ended up doing a lot of punk styled boudoir with a bit of glamour at the end when we headed out into the yard to play.I love that sessions with Maddy always seem to take on a life of their own so that I’m never quiet sure what I’ll be creating till the session is ended! Maddy you are a gorgeous vibrant woman and I’m so lucky to have the honour of being your photographer!
